Ministry Vehicle Update
I (Ken) just got home this week from another trip of over 1600 miles. (This is one reason that our monthly Kneemail is getting to you late, at the very end of the month).
Most of the journey was to spend time with the Toka Leya project as we carefully checked the translation of the Gospel of Mark. I was also able to visit the government offices in Zambia’s capital city, Lusaka. We have applied for a special status that would allow us to import a new vehicle with reduced customs duties. While the front offices tell us that our application looks complete, the offices at higher levels continue to find faults in our applications. Fortunately, we are permitted to correct any matters and resubmit the applications. We’ve just resubmitted again, so please continue to pray with us that our application is approved.
In the meantime, our present vehicle, now 21 yrs old, is being held together with wire, plastic ties, and duct tape. When a brake line broke last week, we were able to continue on the journey but searched for two days until we found someone who could solder the brake line.
